Very useful for our Japanese customers, we recently finalised an agreement with a Japanese partner and can now offer vanilla and cocoa from our warehouse facilities in Tokyo. No import formalities anymore, buy Mountains of the Moon from our base in Japan!

Website maintenance and smartphone features

Our website www.mountains-of-the-moon.com is now online again after undergoing some maintenance. The upgrades were necessary security fixes which are already in action. For the moment google is still listing our site as potential malware distributor, even though we immediately applied for checking this status. Very soon the blockage should be removed and the site status rehabilitated. Nevertheless, browsing on our website is already safe!

Additionally to these security fixes we added a smartphone and tablet optimized version of www.mountains-of-the-moon.com. Have fun while browsing and don’t forget to leave a comment on our Facebook page what you think about the new smartphone design.

During fermentation and drying of our cocoa we keep temperatures in range of 40 – 45 C. Temperatures below this range lead to incomplete fermentation; above they destroy vital proteins and enzymes that shape the flavour of cocoa and determine its nutritive value. Very critical is a gentle drying phase. It helps to reduce acidity and to allow ample time for oxidization and the development of an intensive chocolate aroma. Read more
